The Nike Kobe 5 Protro ¡°5x Champ / Lakers¡± commemorates the legacy of Kobe Bryant on his fifth signature shoe with Nike Basketball. The inspiration for this ¡°5x Champ / Lakers¡± colorway comes from none other than the NBA Championship leather jackets that were gifted to Bryant following his second and third title victories as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. A glossy finish is applied to the entire upper. Court Purple leather detailing can be found on the perforated toe, tongue, and mid-panel. The contrasting black leather overlays on the forefoot, eyelets, and toe cap are outlined in yellow trim to bring the decidedly ¡°Lakers¡± theme together. Black mesh is located on the upper half of the heel, while the lower portion of the heel sports a plastic cup design for maximum stability. Bryant¡¯s signature dots the heel, and a black Swoosh with yellow accenting appears on the side of the shoe. A Zoom Air cushioning system is embedded in the icy translucent outsole.
